On August 03, 2022, Meiir Nurtaiuly Sheraly, the Chief Executive Officer of Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP, visited the sulfuric acid plant of SSAP LLP (the subsidiary of SK-Ondeu) as part of the working visit to Stepnogorsk.

SSAP LLP is the project operator for the reconstruction of the sulfuric acid plant with a production capacity of 194 thousand tons of 93% commercial sulfuric acid per year. 76% of the sulfuric acid produced is supplied to the strategic partner, Kazatomprom JSC, for uranium mining, 24% is used in the chemical industry, metallurgy, in the production of mineral fertilizers, etc.

As part of familiarization with the production process, M. Sheraly paid special attention to the issues of financial transparency and performance, including the need to increase income in the sale of products by concluding direct contracts for the supply of sulfuric acid with consumers (except for delivery to the strategic partner). Along with this, great attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the safety and labor protection of employees, environmental safety, procurement transparency, etc.

Following the meeting, the working group provided recommendations to the plant on improving production activities and considered long-term plans for expanding production.
