In 2009, Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP became a member of JV SKZ Kazatomprom LLP. The funds were allocated for the reconstruction of a sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 180 thousand tons in order to provide uranium mining enterprises of Kazatomprom with sulfuric acid. In October 2015, the reconstruction of the sulfuric acid plant with a production capacity of 180 thousand tons per year was completed, the plant was put into operation. Reconstruction of existing production facilities has been carried out, as well as construction of new facilities (molten sulfur warehouse with pumping station, absorption department, pumping sulfuric acid warehouse, diesel fuel warehouse, railway overpass) to ensure the production of high-quality product. The installed equipment and technology comply with international standards.
Since the launch, taxes in the amount of more than KZT940 million have been paid to the budget.
In 2021, SSAP LLP reached 100% of the sulfuric acid production capacity for the first time since its launch. Currently, the Partnership provides employment for about 231 people, the annual production volume is 194.52 thousand tons of 93% sulfuric acid, worth more than KZT4.5 billion. For 2022, the price level is indexed.

Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. LLP was developed within the framework of the “Program of Petrochemical Industry Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2008-2013”, approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 29, 2007 No. 1352, in order to use the existing large volumes of gas from Tengiz and Kashagan fields as the initial raw material for the gas-chemical complex for production of expensive petrochemical products for further sale in the domestic and export markets.
The project is included into the State program on accelerated industrial-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 19, 2010 No. 958.
