In 2009, Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP became a member of JV SKZ Kazatomprom LLP. The funds were allocated for the reconstruction of a sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 180 thousand tons in order to provide uranium mining enterprises of Kazatomprom with sulfuric acid. In October 2015, the reconstruction of the sulfuric acid plant with a production capacity of 180 thousand tons per year was completed, the plant was put into operation. Reconstruction of existing production facilities has been carried out, as well as construction of new facilities (molten sulfur warehouse with pumping station, absorption department, pumping sulfuric acid warehouse, diesel fuel warehouse, railway overpass) to ensure the production of high-quality product. The installed equipment and technology comply with international standards.

Since the launch, taxes in the amount of more than KZT940 million have been paid to the budget.

In 2021, SSAP LLP reached 100% of the sulfuric acid production capacity for the first time since its launch. Currently, the Partnership provides employment for about 231 people, the annual production volume is 194.52 thousand tons of 93% sulfuric acid, worth more than KZT4.5 billion. For 2022, the price level is indexed.

Current tasks:

• providing uranium mining enterprises of JSC NAC Kazatomprom with sulfuric acid. Solving the problems of processing sulfur that has a negative impact on the environmental situation in the Caspian region (currently, about 8 million tons of sulfur are on the sulfur maps of Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO));
  
• development of the chemical industry in the northern regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan by processing sulfur using modern technologies.

The main purpose of the activity of CHEM-Plus LLP is the production and sale of plant protection products (herbicides) for the Kazakhstan market using advanced technologies.

Current tasks:

• production and sale of plant protection products (herbicides) for the Kazakhstan market using advanced technologies;
• search for strategic partners for the implementation of investment projects for the creation and development of chemical industries for the production of competitive chemical products with high added value;
• attracting investments to the construction and integrated development of chemical industries.

Karabatan Utility Solutions LLP was established in 2014 by the decision of the general meeting of the company participants dated August 20, 2014.

Current tasks:

• construction and operation of complexes, production facilities and plants for hydrocarbon processing;
• design, construction and commissioning of infrastructure facilities within the Special Economic Zone;   
• production of electric and (or) heat energy for own needs and (or) implementation;         
• operation of production, administrative and infrastructure facilities within the framework of investment projects;        
• production and sale of industrial products manufactured within the framework  of investment projects implementation;         
• implementation of measures necessary for and related to engineering, design, and construction of production, administrative, and infrastructure facilities within the framework of investment projects implementation.

"Butadien" LLP is a project of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of petrochemicals, specifically the production of butadiene rubber. The Project is located within the Special Economic Zone for the Development of Petrochemicals in the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the Karabatan site, 43 km from the city of Atyrau. Implementation of the Project will create more than two thousand jobs during the construction phase and 754 jobs (highly qualified specialists) during the operational phase. The preliminary cost of the Project was estimated at $888 million, with a commissioning date set for 2026. The annual supply volume of raw materials will amount to 380 thousand tons of butane per year. Planned sales markets include Europe, the CIS, China, Turkey, and other markets. As part of the Project's implementation, five different types of products are planned for production:

• Styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) — up to 30 thousand tons;
• Butadiene-styrene synthetic rubber — up to 60 thousand tons;
• Butadiene — up to 45 thousand tons;
• Isobutane-isobutylene fraction — up to 130 thousand tons;
• Methyl tert-butyl ether — up to 40 thousand tons.
