In 2009, Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP became a member of JV SKZ Kazatomprom LLP. The funds were allocated for the reconstruction of a sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 180 thousand tons in order to provide uranium mining enterprises of Kazatomprom with sulfuric acid. In October 2015, the reconstruction of the sulfuric acid plant with a production capacity of 180 thousand tons per year was completed, the plant was put into operation. Reconstruction of existing production facilities has been carried out, as well as construction of new facilities (molten sulfur warehouse with pumping station, absorption department, pumping sulfuric acid warehouse, diesel fuel warehouse, railway overpass) to ensure the production of high-quality product. The installed equipment and technology comply with international standards.

Since the launch, taxes in the amount of more than KZT940 million have been paid to the budget.

In 2021, SSAP LLP reached 100% of the sulfuric acid production capacity for the first time since its launch. Currently, the Partnership provides employment for about 231 people, the annual production volume is 194.52 thousand tons of 93% sulfuric acid, worth more than KZT4.5 billion. For 2022, the price level is indexed.

Current tasks:

• providing uranium mining enterprises of JSC NAC Kazatomprom with sulfuric acid. Solving the problems of processing sulfur that has a negative impact on the environmental situation in the Caspian region (currently, about 8 million tons of sulfur are on the sulfur maps of Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO));
  
• development of the chemical industry in the northern regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan by processing sulfur using modern technologies.

The main purpose of the activity of CHEM-Plus LLP is the production and sale of plant protection products (herbicides) for the Kazakhstan market using advanced technologies.

Current tasks:

• production and sale of plant protection products (herbicides) for the Kazakhstan market using advanced technologies;
• search for strategic partners for the implementation of investment projects for the creation and development of chemical industries for the production of competitive chemical products with high added value;
• attracting investments to the construction and integrated development of chemical industries.

The purpose of this project was to create attractive conditions for raising direct investment in import-substituting and export-oriented, high-tech and competitive chemical production.

In addition, the objectives of the project include development and support of the chemical industry, production of chemical products and items based on them with high added value by attracting the world’s leading companies in this industry. 

Current tasks:

• completion of construction of infrastructure facilities;
  
• 6 participants planning to carry out their activities on the territory of the SEZ have been registered, work on 2 potential participants is in progress on expanding priority activities.

Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. LLP was developed within the framework of the “Program of Petrochemical Industry Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2008-2013”, approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 29, 2007 No. 1352, in order to use the existing large volumes of gas from Tengiz and Kashagan fields as the initial raw material for the gas-chemical complex for production of expensive petrochemical products for further sale in the domestic and export markets.

The project is included into the State program on accelerated industrial-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 19, 2010 No. 958.

Current tasks:

• Construction of the first integrated gas-chemical complex in Atyrau region;
• Operation of the Complex, including production and sale of industrial products manufactured by the Complex;
• Implementation of measures necessary for and related to engineering, design, and construction of the Complex, but not limited to the performance of customer functions and technical supervision under contracts for design, procurement and construction of the Project, the Complex and all other related contracts; 
• Implementation of measures related to attraction of financing for the Project and the Complex implementation;
• Implementation of measures on production and sale of industrial products manufactured by the Complex, including all products of gas processing and petrochemistry.

Karabatan Utility Solutions LLP was established in 2014 by the decision of the general meeting of the company participants dated August 20, 2014.

Current tasks:

• construction and operation of complexes, production facilities and plants for hydrocarbon processing;
• design, construction and commissioning of infrastructure facilities within the Special Economic Zone;   
• production of electric and (or) heat energy for own needs and (or) implementation;         
• operation of production, administrative and infrastructure facilities within the framework of investment projects;        
• production and sale of industrial products manufactured within the framework  of investment projects implementation;         
• implementation of measures necessary for and related to engineering, design, and construction of production, administrative, and infrastructure facilities within the framework of investment projects implementation.
