On June 29, 2021, the II Information Session of United Chemical Company LLP (hereinafter – UCC) on Development Prospects was held within the framework of UCC project: REBOOT 2021.

This information session is organized to form a platform for open discussion of issues and ideas, in order to build up prospects and UCC role in the chemical industry. This is the second such event, and we can see that interest in this platform has grown considerably among parties concerned. Many participants noted an importance of topics raised for the country.

Information Session was actively attended by representatives of the Sole Participant of UCC – Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Chemical Industry Council Association of Legal Entities, Kazakhstan Industry Development Institute JSC (QazIndustry), PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kazakhstan Union of Chemists Association of Legal Entities, QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development JSC, as well as UCC employees and subsidiaries (SSAP LLP, Polymer Production LLP, CHEM-plus LLP, MC SEZ ChemPark Taraz JSC).

Within the framework of the Information Session, a presentation was heard about the state of chemical industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in comparison with experience of neighboring countries, unfortunately, Kazakhstan is lagging behind on many indicators. 

In active negotiations with participants, the main conclusion was made on the need to strengthen effective interaction between state bodies, relevant non-governmental organizations and other interested parties on diversification of petrochemical production, as well as improving competitiveness of domestic production in agrochemistry.
