New Approaches to Industry–Academia Collaboration

Altynai Sharipova, Head of Science at SK Ondeu LLP, participated as a speaker in the panel session “Bridging the Gap: Industry–Academia Collaboration in Chemical and Materials Engineering in Central Asia” held as part of the 2nd Annual NU SEDS Scientific Conference at Nazarbayev University. During the discussion, participants addressed the development of R&D through strengthening collaboration between universities and industry, the effective utilization of research infrastructure, as well as the requirements for modern engineers — ranging from a solid technical foundation to advanced soft and digital skills. Particular emphasis was placed on the industry's readiness to adopt advanced solutions, including new materials and technologies leveraging artificial intelligence.
