More than 115 Thousand Plastic Bottles and Aluminum Cans to Be Disposed of by the Fandomats of SK Ondeu LLP under the Taza Kazakhstan Campaign

As part of the Taza Kazakhstan environmental campaign, Samruk Kazyna Ondeu with the support of the Fund, installed a device for receiving plastic bottles and aluminum cans on the 1st floor of the Samruk-Kazyna business center in Astana for all employees of the Fund’s Group of Companies. During this period, the first fandomat collected more than 15,000 plastic bottles and more than 3,000 aluminum cans. SK Ondeu also initiated the installation of similar fandomats in the offices of the Fund’s portfolio companies, including JSC NC Qazaq Gaz, JSC NC KazMunayGas, Samruk Business Academy PI, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. Moreover, on September 30, 2024, SK Ondeu LLP, Samruk Kazyna Trust and Ecoplatform Kazakhstan LLP signed a Memorandum of Cooperation according to which the parties agreed to transfer funds raised after the sale of collected plastic bottles and aluminum cans from the container acceptance unit for recycling to implementation of charity projects. It should be noted that the installation of fandomats is aimed at supporting innovation and technological development, improving conditions for employees and visitors, increasing environmental reputation and reducing waste management costs, which contributes to the formation of environmentally conscious behavior and minimizing the ecological footprint. - Separate waste collection is one of the simplest and most effective ways to minimize environmental pollution. It reduces not only the amount of garbage, but also recycles materials from which it is possible to create new useful things”, - Bagzhan Kasymbekova, the Sustainable Development Manager (ESG) of SK Ondeu LLP, said. The company plans to implement in future projects under the environmental movement “Taza Kazakhstan”.
