Workshop of Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP and Kazphosphate LLP.

Agriculture in Kazakhstan is one of the most important sectors of the economy, which ensures the country’s food security. In 2022, there are more than 23 million hectares of acreage in Kazakhstan, while farmers contribute only a quarter of the required amount of fertilizers, due to their high cost and dependence on imports. Therefore, the issue of the production of domestic mineral fertilizers is a hot issue.

These issues have been discussed today by the working group of Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP headed by Chief Executive Officer, Sheraly Meyir Nurtaiuly, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazphosphate LLP, Strezhnev Dmitry Stepanovich, with Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kazphosphate LLP, Toksanbayev Gani Bereketovich.

The parties have discussed the implementation of joint projects in the territory of Kazakhstan for the production of mineral fertilizers, which will give impetus to the development of the domestic chemical industry and help domestic farmers. Priority will be given to R&D projects, as well as projects using green technologies. Following the meeting, the parties have agreed to create a working group to work out in detail the possibility of implementing the project.
