Growth was shown in the production of ammonia, as well as nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers.
Almost half of the production volume accounts for only two regions – Zhambyl and Atyrau regions, energyprom.kz informs.
The chemical industry products manufacturing in January-July 2020 amounted to KZT280.4 billion in value terms — 3.8% more than in January-July 2019. The industrial production index was 103.6%.
In general, in 2019, the volume of production reached KZT466.2 billion, the IPI was 100.9%.
Among the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the largest volume of chemical industry production in January-July 2020 fell on Zhambyl region, where the largest plant in the industry, Kazphosphate, is located: KZT101.5 billion, 8.8% increase over the year.
Next are Atyrau (KZT33.2 billion) and Karaganda (KZT28.3 billion) regions.

In physical terms, ammonia showed largest increase in production in the chemical industry: 27.8% growth over the year, up to 142.1 thousand tons. There was also increase in the output of fertilizers: nitrogen production increased by 20.3%, to 256 thousand tons, phosphorus – by 5.6%, to 112.8 thousand tons.
Most noticeable decline was noted in the segment of additives for cements, mortars and concretes: by 33.1%, up to 338.1 thousand tons. The output of sodium hydroxide is also in the red: by 32.2%, up to 18.9 thousand tons. The production of ethyl alcohol decreased by 3.2%, to 8 million liters.

More than 89% of nitrogen fertilizers in the Republic of Kazakhstan are produced in Mangystau region, where the largest plant in the sector, KazAzot, is located: 228.2 thousand tons, 21.3% increase over the year.
Almost 95% of phosphorus fertilizers are expected to be produced in Zhambyl region: 106.8 thousand tons, plus 7.2% per year.
