The Second Winter Spartakiad of the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies Held in Astana On 7–8 February, the capital hosted a major sporting event that brought together around 2,000 participants and supporters. This year, teams from 20 portfolio companies of the Fund took part in the Winter Spartakiad. The competitions were held in support of Kazakhstani athletes representing the country at the Olympic Games in Italy. The hockey tournament kicked off the day before and concluded with a victory for Team Samruk United. The silver medal was claimed by the hockey team of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, while KazMunayGas secured the bronze. In addition, approximately 500 participants took to the старт line of the cross-country ski race in the Central Park. At the same time, charitable activity zones operated throughout the venue: participants collected essential items for families in need, supported animal shelters, and built birdhouses, which were immediately installed on trees across the park. Sport is an integral part of the corporate culture. The Fund actively promotes its development both within the Group and nationwide. Over the past three years, with the support of Samruk-Kazyna, 19 sports complexes have been opened, making sports accessible to 750,000 people.
